WiVo Wireless Broadband is delivered via Radio Frequency (RF), like a radio station but transmitting large amounts of data instead of sound. The signal is very strong, capable of traveling dozens of miles from the transmitter.

A receiver needs to be attached to the exterior (generally roof) of the subscriber's building to receive the service. The receiver (Subscriber Unit -SU) is very small and WiVo handles the install. Each SU has its own identity and can send and receive encrypted signals only to the assigned base station for maximum security.

The SU must have line of sight back to a local WiVo base station. The installation technicians will cable from the SU to the customer suite or phone closet. A standard Ethernet hand-off (D-Mark) is provided to connect directly to the customer LAN or firewall. There is no additional equipment required. WiVo monitors, manages and maintains each SU along with the entire network
